This is a private tool I built for myself. It isn't publicly available.
Problem
Conversations about AI and developer tools move fast on X. By the time a good post reaches your timeline, the useful discussion under it has already happened. I wanted to see promising posts on topics I follow while they were still early.
Approach
A Chrome extension with a side panel. It searches for posts on keyword groups I care about, filters them and ranks what's left by views per minute.
Filter before ranking. Most of the value is in what gets dropped:
- posts that are too old, or too new to judge
- posts with lots of likes but no replies, which means there's no conversation to join
- accounts whose views are tiny compared with their follower count
- posts that only mention a keyword as an @handle, or use an everyday word like "cursor" without any AI context
What's left is sorted into "worth a look now" and "moving fast, check back soon."
One core, two front-ends. The scanning logic is a plain ES module with its storage passed in, so the same code runs in the extension and from a Node command line. Tuning a filter is quick to test from the terminal before it ever touches the UI.
Cheap by design. Profile lookups are cached for a day, and a full scan across all groups costs about half a cent.
Outcome
A tool I use daily. It isn't a product and isn't distributed.
