Have you ever wondered why the Apple logo is a half eaten apple? Well you are about to find out.
To find this out we have to go a bit back. The Apple logo was not always an apple. In fact the first ever Apple logo was a picture of Isaac Newton sitting under an Apple tree. Right after this Jobs assigned Rob Janoff, who was a graphic designer to design a new logo. Steve asked Rob to not make the logo 'cute'.
So, Rob designed the famous colourful logo.
Recently in an interview, the designer, Rob Janoss, said “I designed it with a bite for scale, so people get that it was an apple, and not a cherry or tomato” .
Another reason he made the logo the way it is, in his own words, he said:
“Also it was kind of iconic about taking bite out of an apple. Something that everyone can experience.”
So, there you go. Now you know that it was just a good design and marketing. And to be honest, it turned out pretty good for Apple.
